Terrific IoT LED bulbs

"I have been so happy with TP Link Kasa/Tapo products for many years. They work fantastically and allow me to control my devices and lights with my voice or with my phone. These light bulbs are no exception. I can setup good quality LED lights in my fixtures and customize how I want them to look as well as when they turn on and off. I can have a schedule or set a timer on my phone. I can turn them on when I'm away just like I had them on a plug-in timer without worrying that it will burn the house down. It's like I'm living in the future, but the future is now!"

Solid Choice for Room Lighting

"I picked these bulbs because they seemed like a good deal, and I needed some new ones for my room. The light is pretty bright (almost too bright sometimes), but it works well as a cheap sun lamp to help me wake up in the morning (who needs coffee?). They're also easy enough to set up and work with all the major voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant, which is nice. I don't have many smart home devices, but these were simple to add into my existing setup. My favorite part is probably the ability to change the colors though, it adds some variety to my room (I even got a couple of those fake neon signs from Wish to go along with it). The Matter thing seems like overkill for me since I don't have many other smart home devices but hey, at least they work offline if needed. My internet has been pretty stable though, so haven't had to test that out yet (maybe one day when I get around to buying more smart stuff for my apartment). All in all, these bulbs are a solid choice if you need some new lighting and want the convenience of voice control and app support. The price is right too, can't complain there."

Matter is Here!

"This review is for TP-Link Tapo Smart Lights with Matter Certification. I understand that the TP-Link smart lights predecessor "Kasa" was dodgy by almost all standards, because it was a front-runner. The Matter Certification has made all the difference in the world. If you were disappointed by Kasa, I suggest you give Tapo a chance. Matter Certification practically guarantees universal connectivity. No Joke. For brightness and colors and responsiveness and such: they work great. However, they aren't exactly kitchen counter or workspace bright, but they are great on nite stands, in bath rooms, console tables, and TV rooms. 2025 is the year that Matter Certification will ramp up to a respectable speed. I am using Apple Home for my Ecosystem and, let me tell you, Apple is "soooo" sluggish about matter certification. But 2025 is guaranteed to be the year that they do wonderful things in the Matter Certification space; they are bringing some kind of new HomePod Hub and a new Apple TV to market, which all will be Matter Certified. So if you can, drop "Works With Apple Home" or "Works With Google" or "Works With SmartThings," and go for Matter Certified, when making new purchases. All the other Ecosystems will probably follow suit in 2025 as well."

Matter with Home Assistant

"Surprisingly, the Matter bulb worked flawlessly with Home Assistant's "beta" Matter integration. It auto-discovered on my phone and I just had to select the Home Assistant app and verify the pairing code. So much easier than installing a third party app and setting up another integration. It is reliable and responsive. The transition time parameter doesn't seem to work, but that is not a big deal."

Wifi paired with Alexa

"Works great with Wifi, and paired with the Alexa App: Can be turned on an off by voice command in English or Spanish, although expensive, highly recommended!"
