"I've been using a bunch of the Kasa smart plugs for years, which have worked - but not with HomeKit (at least, not natively). So when I saw these get released, I jumped at the chance to get them as I'm trying to move most of my "smart" devices to HomeKit. SETUP: * The HomeKit setup was very easy and fast, you just open the "Home" app on your iOS device and scan the QR code that's printed on each outlet/device - and it's magically added. * They also work perfectly well with Alexa, and that setup was easy also. * And, you can always control them directly via the "Tapo" app as well. I haven't had any connection issues. Luckily, these seem a lot more stable/reliable than the previous plugs I was using (the Kasa ones, which are actually made by the same company), as they would sometimes randomly disconnect from my router. I've had these new TP-Link plugs, plugged in and used daily - since about last December. So about 2-3 months, and zero issues so far, I'm very pleased. If you're a HomeKit user, I'd especially recommend these if you need some plugs. There aren't very many plugs available (or just devices in general, however that should change now with the Matter/Thread integration that is now offered). Alexa integration works well too, I have them connected to both. Scheduling, etc. works great via any smart assistant (Alexa, Siri [HomeKit], Google Home and Samsung SmartThings). I've tested them thoroughly with HomeKit and Alexa, but I don't have Google Home or Samsung SmartThings setup, so I can't comment on those. There is also a physical button on each plug, so if you need to, or don't connect it to your network, you can still manually press the button to toggle the power. Overall, these are well-built, functional and are easy to get setup. Yes, they do turn on and off! That's all I wanted :)"
"I've used Kasa for a couple of years, so I'm biased. I ordered these to evaluate TP-Link's Tapo product line as compared to Kasa. I like all owners of Kasa products are worried about TP-Link introducing a new product line that doesn't work with the Kasa app. I found the Tapo app to be intuitive and easy to use, installing the plug was actually easier than adding a similar device in the Kasa app. The device uses Bluetooth to initiate the setup process rather than Kasa requiring you to switch your Wi-fi to the Kasa device (in the middle of setup). That being said I disliked the Tapo app, seemed clunky and doesn't offer some of the options I've become accustomed to with Kasa. A disturbing issue I found was once power was disconnected from the device the listing for immediately disappeared from the Tapo app. Once power was restored the device did reappear. While as consumers are not often privy to corporate decisions, I am concerned that a company would release a second line of products that do not integrate with its previous product line. Analysts I've found online presume that TP-Link will eventually merge these products into a single platform, most leaning towards Kasa falling under the Tapo umbrella. Who knows? It's really a shame, TP-Link devices work so very well but with the uncertainty as to which product line will come out on top, buyers may be hesitant to purchase either, or just hold off waiting for the winner of this product war. Who wants to install devices only to learn you might be using a product line that may shortly discontinued or be subsumed into a different product line with different features than what you've become used to!"
"Smart plugs have come a long way in the last few years and I totally love them. This time of year I use them to setup schedules for all of my Christmas lights. I also use them on my various 3D printers for the sake of safety -- i.e. if I see a major problem happening using my Octopi remote, I can use a smart plug to totally kill the power to the entire printer. I have used several of the different TP-Link Smart devices over the last few years and have had nothing but good luck out of them and these seem to work just as well as all of the others. Having used their products before, I already had the Tapo app installed on my phone (and it only takes a few seconds to download from the app store if it isn't), and to add the plug all I had to do was hit +, pick the plug model from the menu, it programmed it for my WiFi, and it was immediately up and running. The only thing that might take a few more minutes would be if you do not have a TP-Link account setup already, but even that is pretty simple to do (and, if you already have a TP-Link Kasa login setup, it also works for Tapo). I also get a bit more peace of mind knowing that these plugs are from a major vendor like TP-Link, are UL Listed, and likely have better safety testing than some of the cheaper 3rd party devices. I have also added various TP-Link devices to my Amazon Echo controls in the past and that has been seamless and worked well too. That said, as these two will be used on my 3D printers, I generally do not set them up for voice control, as I don't want to risk accidentally saying something and having it shut down a print in the middle. So, these are super small, reasonably priced, UL listed, easy to setup, can handle up to 15A, and generally "just work," and I heartedly recommend them."

"Yep ~ I tried 2 other smart plugs with my Alexa Echo Dot ~ and I searched for any mention of such smart plugs being specifically able to handle an AC Window Unit ~ of Air Conditioner Window Unit (I am typing it both ways so folks can find this plug!) Both of the previous plugs gave up and went back to Amazon ~ so I researched some more ~ still hard to find (google) clear specific recommended smart plugs that can handle a Window AC ~ And then I came across mention of the TP-Link Tapo P125 ~ So I will type it here one more time ~. The TP-Link Tapo P125 can handle a Window AC Unit ~ at least up to 8000BTU (like the one I have). You're Welcome! ~~~ I use the plug to be able to turn off my AC when I leave my small apartment for the day ~ and about 30 minutes before I head home I tell Alexa to flip on the AC ~~~ and I return home to a nice cool place. Sweet!"
"Super easy to set up, works great with my HomePod . Just scan code on side of the plug. Wait a minute to uploads then you name that plug and you tell it what to do. Exactly what I wanted. On a couple of them it took me a couple tries for it to connect to the Internet when i scanning the code. I figured out if you unplug it and plug it back in and turn it back on. It works pretty much every time for the upload process, but after that, you�ll never have to do it again. and they work flawlessly for me. So good luck be patient if you�re one of those that give up after the first or second try. Just don�t be in a hurry and try it again it will work. and after you do a couple, you�ll know how easy it is. Super happy with mine."
